Ed tried not to burst out laughing as Roy turned back into a horse and Sierra was riding him like a cowgirl.
Cathy fingered her lucky feather. "So if we take them off, then we go back to being weres?" she asked, lightly petting the softness of it.
"Well, that's nice to know. We have to make sure we have these on us at all times when we're in public. We don't know what would happen if we accidentally transformed in front of other people," Riza said, clutching her talon.

Sierra dismounted and gave Roy back his pendant and he turned back to normal. He clipped it back on and grabbed Edward's from him. "How's that!?"
Al sighed. "I don't think this is going to stop anytime soon..."
"Enough goofing off!" The Mockingbird Alchemist ment serious business, "Our next destination is Central."

In a puff of smoke and glitter, Ed was now a merman again, lying face first in the grass. "HEY!! What was that for??" he yelled and gasped, feeling the dehydration coming, especially with the hot sun. "Give it back! QUICK!!"
Riza glared at Roy, and smacked him across the back of the head. "Knock it off! This is serious!"

As Roy was struck he dropped the charm by Ed and stumbled forward. "OW, DAMMIT! You saw what he did to me last night!"
"So what? You got your revenge, knock it off!" Sierra growled.
"Umm..." Al started, "Why're we going to Central?"
"Because we told Winry that's where we're headed. What if she decides to go after you and Ed?" She turned to the alchemist, "By the way, I was right. Everything was where it was last night. I moved the automail to the shop so it looked like it was one of the works in progress."

Ed quickly put the necklace back on and changed back, quickly standing up and death glared Roy.
Cathy held back Ed and sweat dropped. "Okay, let's just let this go! No more fighting!" she said and looked to Sierra. "We left the car at the Rockbells'. Should we just take the next train to Central?"
Riza nodded. "Yes, they might think that we just left the car there and headed to Central on the train since not all of us can fit in that car. It's a two day ride to Central though."

"Not a problem." Sierra waved off all concern, "We only turn during a full moon."
"BUT FULL MOONS LAST TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!" Al whined.
"Then we board a train tomorrow. Until then, we walk."
Roy snorted, "Easier said than done. You trained in the mountains. The rest of us are not prepared for our feet to bleed."

Ed groaned. The last thing he needed was a incredibly long ass walk after not being on his feet all last night. He didn't HAVE feet!
"What if we walked to the next town and borrowed a car there? I'm sure there are military personal that will let us use their car," Riza suggested.
"Good, because I'm not walking ALL the way to Central!" Cathy said, ready to cry from thinking about walking a two day ride.

"Fine. We go to the next town over, stay the night, and THEN DRIVE!" Sierra snarled. She was probably still irritated from last night.
Roy sighed and shook his head, "Fine. I don't see why this is such an issue..." He began walking toward the road, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
Al looked at his brother with concern. "Why is everyone so on edge? I know this is stressful but still..." He remembered the Colonel's words from last night before they fell asleep.

Ed sighed. "Beats me, Al... I think this whole situation is just irritating. If we were meant to be these creatures, then why weren't we at birth?" he muttered.
Cathy over heard him. "Good question..." she said as they walked onto the dirt road. It was a good thing it was so early in the morning and not a lot of people were out. Just the occasional farmer working in the field or sheep herder trying to get their sheep in one area.

They say that the countryside is supposed to relax the human spirit. But that was turning out harder and harder to be true. Every once and a while, Roy and Sierra would get into spats about directions and then somehow Ed would become a part of it. Only the three remaining would be in charge of breaking it up. But there was one rule no one broke during their fights, and that was removing eachother's pendants. The last thing they wanted was that kind of attention...
...Or so they thought. A green glass ball projected the image of the wandering group. Watching with glee was Selman Mathers. "Ooh! How fun! Come here, Ratigan! I found some new recruits for our little family!"

The blue haired demon appeared out of the shadows, bandages covering part of his face, including his mouth. Even with the bandages he could talk clearly. "You've found something, Master?" he asked, a bit of interest and excitement sparkled in the only eye that was showing.
In the background you could hear screams and cries of creatures that were locked up in cages and other confinements, sounding like they no longer had a body or soul, but were just mindless beings.
"Shut up!!" Ratigan yelled, cracking his whip toward the only other things moving about in the room. He then bent down, leaning his face over the crystal ball. "Weres?" he asked, memorizing each of their faces.

"Yes. And quite unusual ones at that," Selman chuckled. He turned to his servant, "They're from the military." Again he chuckled and pointed to each one as he said, "This one is a merman and his brother is an enfield beast. Then this one is a pegasus and the sister is a lightning bird while the cousin is a mngwa! Finally this one... ah, the beauty she is, she is a griffin!" He was so elated with his finds, "Oh, Ratigan! They must be so lost and lonely! Confused too! Get them home for me, will you dear?"

Ratigan smiled and bowed. "Of course, Master! Shall I take some of the men along as well?" he asked, referring to his circus crew. "I think the easiest one to capture will be the merman."

"Oh yes! You're so brilliant! What would I do without you?" Selman chuckled, "Wait until he turns again tonight though... he'll be an easier catch!" As he bid his servant off, he stared deeper into the crystal ball, eyeing his first target as he interlaced his fingers and rested his chin on them. "Yes... the Fullmetal Alchemist will be so much easier to get my hands on in his weakest state..."
-----
It was midday when the group arrived in the next town. A lot of people gave odd stares at Roy, Sierra, and Riza. Even though there was military stationed here, they still didn't trust ones wearing the uniform.
"I knew this was going to happen, it always does," Roy snorted.
Al sighed, "The military still isn't trustworthy in the public eye, even with Bradley dead..."

Ratigan nodded and bowed before disappearing back into the shadows.
~~~
"It can't be helped. We would get stares like this no matter what town we arrived in," Riza said and sighed. "Let's find the military base and get out of here as soon as possible."
Just then, Ed's stomach let out a loud growl. "Eh heh... Maybe we could stop for lunch? I kinda forgot to eat last night," he mumbled and sweat dropped.
"Now that I'm no longer a bird, I think I should eat something other than those berries..." she said and placed a hand on her stomach. The berries may have stuffed her silly last night, but now that she was bigger, she felt like her stomach was practically empty.
