... But Indy was busy attempting to get through the crowded tavern. The noise of the mob made it impossible for Indy to hear anything. At first they ignored the stranger, but then as he brushed past a cursty old fellow with a ponytail, he muttered to his friends and eventually... they all looked on as one at the oddly clad newcomer... and all fell silent. For a moment the only sound in the room was the Professer as he excused himself to get by a few curious onlookers.
Finally, an elderly chap in a far dark corner called out, "Oy! The shrimp kid called for ya!!" Indy finally turned and looked, an eyebrow raised in question.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A SHRIMP!!!" Ed yelled and created a ruckus, scaring some of the men in the tavern to run to the other side of the room. "Whoa! Take it easy kid! We didn't say that much!" One man said. Ed ignored him and walked up to the doctor, holding up a piece of paper. "Is this yours? I found it in my room." he said, holding the information tightly in his hand. he wasn't about to let it go until he got some info.

Indy tried to examine the piece of paper that vibrated in the Alchemist's Hand, but gave up and grabbed Ed's wrist. The page finally settling, Indy took one look at the title and, hiding a minor surge of annoyance and anger, stared disapprovingly down at Ed, "The Philiosopher's Stone huh? and... What if it is mine?"

Ed smirked, pulling the piece of paper away from the professor. "If it is yours then I want you to tell me everything you know about it." he said, stuffing the piece of paper in his pocket. "Otherwise, you're not getting this back."

"Listen kid... I've had bad enough experiences with that damn red rock.... You don't need to know anything. trust me..." As he was talking he caught something in those determined eyes, Something familiar. After a few moments of tension, Indy straightened up. With a free hand he waved at the crowd, "Nothing to see here folks... Have a nice whatever you call it around here..." And with that, he began to drag Ed outside. "You're comin' with me...."

"H-Hey! HEY! Let go!" Ed ranted as he was being dragged out of the tavern. As soon as they were outside, he pulled his arm away and glared. "What's the big idea?"

(( o.o;; Oh~ I'll get on it Asap~ ))
Indy began pacing, "I could care less about a piece of a scrap note book page, what I want to know...." Turning on his heel he glared at Ed with a curious and only half accusing stare, "What do you want a Philosopher's stone for...?" His gaze began searching the young man in front of him, almost attempting to figure out what would cause a little kid to want something that was so volatile back in his own world. "What is it to you? A-a key to...Immortality? or-or a quick way to make cash?" He began to stumble on his words as memories of his past encounters with the very stone resurfaced from the darker corners of his mind.

Ed stared at the man pacing back and forth. Obviously he hated the stone like so many other people did. He then slowly took off his jacket to show his automail arm. "This." he stated simply. "All I want...is to get my brother his body back to normal. If you saw him now, you'll understand why." he said and looked at the ground sadly. "We committed a forbidden taboo when we were young. We tried to bring back our dead mother using alchemy. At the time I was confident and thought we could do anything. But the transmutation backfired and I lost my left leg while my brother lost his entire body. I then sacrificed my right arm and managed to get just his soul back by binding it to a suit of armor." he then paused and looked the man in the eyes with determination. "All I want is to restore our bodies to the way they were! I don't care about wealth or immortality."

There was a long pause, punctuated by the setting sun hiding behind an ominous collection of storm clouds. Indy readjusted his Fedora, and quietly thought over what was said, taking it all in. The young man before him hadn't flinched even once, so he knew the story had to be true.
With a sigh, he rubbed the back of his neck and began to apologize, "I'm sorry...." Only then did he realised he hadn't learned the Alchemist's name. Not shifting his gaze he asked, "What's your name kid?"

Edward stared at the man, wondering if he could trust this guy or not. Well he already told him his secret, right? "Edward Elric. I'm also known as the` Fullmetal Alchemist." he said and grinned for a brief moment, proud of his State name. "And you're Dr. Jones? What are you a professor or something?" he asked, staring at the whip near the man's hip.
((Hey, Klik. Have you seen that commentary on Disc 5 of FMA with Mike, Vic, and Aaron? It's on episode 19 if you have the disc. They reference lab 5 to Indiana Jones XDDDDD It's so funny!! Vic: You think they got some ideas from Indiana Jones here? Mike: I wouldn't doubt it. Vic: *in Ed's voice* We'll never find the arch of the covenant this way! ...Look there's even the skulls. Those who have tried in the past have failed. Mike: You throw me the idle, I throw you the whip! Vic: Dr. Elric!
I swear, I died laughing XDD LOL!! If you don't have the DVDs I'll try to find a good DVD ripper and put it on youtube. n.n))

(( I haven't seen it... So PLEASE! RIP IT, POST IT AND LINK IT~!!! )) He nodded and smiled, patting his whip, "College... Part time...." A chuckle escaped him, but it faded. "Listen... Edward." He rubbed the back of his neck, unsure of how to break this to him. "I'm sorry to have to tell you this... but in...My... World, the philosopher's stone... I found it... and it fell into the wrong hands..." He cringed and looked at the ground as the terrible images began to swirl about in his head, "They were going to resurrect an army of zombies.... Undead Nazis..." He spat the last words which left such a terrible taste in his mouth. "So... I destroyed the Stone...." Edward felt a surge of anger, disappointment, and depression turn all at once in his stomach. At first he didn't know how to answer. The was a long moment of silence and Ed looked up. "Oh...I see." he said and looked away, disappointment written all over his face. "I'm guessing you don't know how to create one either, do you?"

Indy resumed a slow pacing, "I knew a few people who tried to make what they called a.. red elixir... It didn't work..." He hated these dark memories. "Kinda Ironic how immortality has a way of killing people...." He muttered darkly. "I gave Flamel's Manuscript to a Museum... It's under lock and key until Marcus can get a proper display for it."
He turned back to Ed, "Wish I could tell you better news than this..."

"Flamel?" Ed asked a bit surprised. "That name sounds familiar..." he then thought about the symbol on the back of his jacket then looked to Indy. "Wait, do you mean Nicholas Flamel? I read that he was the first to ever create a Philosopher's Stone. In fact he was the very first alchemist and he lived for hundreds of years using the stone." he paused and looked the professor in the face. "You're saying you have his manuscript?" Ed then smirked. "I'm guessing your other job is an archeologist if you found this much stuff." ((This is turning out to be a one-on-one RPG btween Ed and Indy ))

"I should be... That's what I... teach..-" The wry smile that had begun to form abruptly faded, replaced by a tight lipped glare, directed, not at Ed, but above him. Indy's hands became fists as he sub-consciously bent his knees.
"...Hey Kid... What do you know about... Glowing Green-Eyed Gargoyles?" (( I wanted to get ruri involved... >.>;; things just got personal for a sec... ))
