Author: Lita Maxwell
Rating: K+
Genre: Romance with a bit of drama/angst
Pairing: Kirommy
Summary: *Set in Kingdom Hearts: Champions of Heart universe* As Kira watches him perform, she is reminded of times with Tommy and her goal of freeing him.
Disclaimer: No own PR, KH, any anime/games involved or Vic Mignogna and or his song ‘Je N’ai Pas de Mots’
Note: This story takes place in Version 3.0 when Kira is given a Keyblade and the task to bring Tommy back home due to his connections to something being able to bring all worlds into darkness. One world she travels to is that of our own (actually, it’s a convention which causes some laughs). I talked to another Rper buddy, Cathy while listening to the song mentioned and told her how I pictured the scene. So, I couldn’t keep the bunny locked up.
The auditorium grew quiet as the crowd watched a man in his forties walk to the baby grand piano perched on the far right side. By looking at how he was dressed in a dark rocker-style t-shirt complete with doodled jeans, one wouldn’t think he could play such a instrument. Just by looking in his clear blue eyes told people that he was a kind hearted man, always caring about everyone around him.
Even by this demeanor, Kira couldn’t think why someone wanted to hurt this man. Sure, she heard he was a cop before but still…
The piano emitted a soft tune, taken with loving care as the man began to sing into the microphone.
The ranger couldn’t help but peek out from her spot backstage, seeing the crowd of people listen intently. There were couples in the audience as well, before the concert started, Vic even made a small joke about the guys not wanting to be there( A room full of screaming fan girls? No way any guy wanted to stay!) but it did give them the chance to be closer to their girlfriends. Kira had to smile as she watched some couples hold each others hands, or wrap their arm around their loved ones waist.
Listening to his words, Kira couldn’t help but remember a couple years ago after helping the Overdrive Rangers how Tommy was trying to tell her how he felt. To be honest, it wasn’t because he couldn’t say anything himself; it was just people kept interrupting him. She knew every time he tried to speak, the phone rang or a student dropped by unexpectedly. It truly did annoy her but from the repressed look on the doctor’s face, he was pissed. Kira remembered Kallen mentioned that every time she and Lelouch were getting closer, someone interrupted (Last time, it was some witch asking for Tabasco sauce for her pizza.) them.
But it was a lesson Kira learned quick: sometimes words aren’t enough. Sometimes the right way to take action.
“Dammit, it’s my phone.”
Before she could answer it, Tommy took the offending object and tossed it aside. Before Kira could protest, he quickly hushed her with a kiss. It only took the woman two seconds to realize what was happening and followed through. After they parted for air, it was the man who finally said,
“It took me forever to try and say something but I guess actions speak louder than words.”
It was strangely appropriate how the song was titled…how it reminded her of her first kiss with the man she loved with all her heart.
‘I will bring him home…’ Kira thought to herself. ‘And I will protect this man and his song.’
When the man finished playing and spoke to the crowd about a film playing for them as a treat, something called Fullmetal Fantasy or whatever, he quickly jogged backstage. Just as the lights started to dim, he noticed something with Kira.
“Sweetie, are you ok?”
Kira blinked, now feeling the wetness leaking out of her eyes. How could she not have known that she was crying? “I’m ok Mr. Mignogna, your song just reminded me of someone.”
Vic put one hand on her shoulder, he heard from Johnny (or was it Adam? He couldn’t tell the difference to be honest) that the ptera was looking for someone she lost. With a comforting smile, he spoke.
“You’ll find him.”
“How?”
He said nothing but pointed to her heart. There was no need for words for Kira to understand what he meant: Faith.

“Come near and stand by me baby
Close enough to reach out and pull you still closer.
All that is swelling within me
Must be a language I’ve never spoken til there was you.”

“I fumble
Try but I stumble.
Overall my heart want to say now…”

“Je n’ai pas de mots
Nothing seems to say the way you move me
Rushing through me
Je n’ai pas de mots
But a promise has been made, you can believe this
From the first kiss.
It’s good that I don’t have to speak
To know that it is real
Je n’ai pas de mots.”
