So I took dance lessons for 3 years and I loved it. I wish I could go back, but being in college I live too far away and I can't afford it. I took Hip Hop and Jazz the first two years and then my third year I took Hip Hop, Jazz, and Lyrical (which is a bit like Ballet.) So anybody else here ever take dance lessons? n.n If I can find a good DVD ripper, I'm gonna put up some of my dances from my dance recitles X3

Hip Hop's fun XD I seriously need to post my dance recitles. My first year I couldn't take Hip Hop unless I took Jazz first, so I took them both at the same time XD Then my last year I was like "You know what? It's my last year. I'm gonna take Lyrical too!" lol. Our Jazz/Lyrical teacher came up from NYC and his choreography was difficult!! XD He expected us to be professional dancers. I can see why now....he did the choreography in that movie P.S. I Love You. I almost quit Jazz, but he changed the dance and it was a lot simpler. (Still a bit hard though but I nailed it on stage! )

I'm shocked... two people of the female gender who haven't seen the film P.S. I Love You.... You could shout the title at a mall and about every other girl in the crowd would scream back, "AWWWWWwwwww..."
ANYWAY!~ I take Ballroom lessons, so I'm not quite of the same caliber as either of you, but I wanted to learn some hip/hop... just never really got around to pursuing it. n.n But I like it... I've taken a course on Basic East Coast Swing, Basic Salsa, and Basic Waltz and BAsic Foxtrot..... But My personal preference is the East Coast Swing. I mean, I'm really good with the Salsa... but... It's... not exactly something many people in my age group know... nor is it easy to teach on a dance floor.
And of the more... "flowy" dances. I Love the Waltz... Screw tuxes, I just want to dance in the rain to a waltz... n.n
Uhm... I'm also learning Basic Chacha and... The Basic West Coast Swing. Fun.

When I was about four or five I took ballet, that's really it. But take me to a rave anytime and I'll bust a move. ;D

I took dance as an after school program when I was at my elementry/middle school. It was jazz and hip hop and it was a lot of fun... then.
Anyway, I've been itching to learn Swing. Ever since I watched the movie "Swing Kids" and been in a '30s version of "Much Ado About Nothing" where we had two swing dance scences. LOL, I wasn't a part of any of them unfortunately (I was the Friar XP).
